Vilma Banky, The Hungarian Rhapsody

Vilma Banky was a Hungarian actress in the silent movie era. Starting off in Hungarian, Austrian and French films, she was signed to Hollywood's Goldwyn studios in 1925 and went on to star in "Son of the Sheik" in 1926.

I was amazed the other week to pick up a Vilma t-shirt from the sale in Topshop, as part of their range of t-shirts featuring classic vintage photographs from Getty Images. The t-shirt features Vilma posing in an adorable sailorette outfit with her dog, on the beach outside her Malibu home in 1930. Here's a snap of me in the t-shirt, my new favourite!

If this has wetted your appetite for more images, there are plenty more out there! For a good gallery of silent film stars go to silentladies.com
